The original Rousch exhaust tip is attached to a new 3" exhaust. There is a replacement kit available online.

The only defect on the truck is a 3" crack in the windshield but it has passed Virginia"s inspection four straight years. All of the locks have been re-keyed since the originals were completely worn out. There is an aftermarket tonneau cover installed along with a cargo net. The radio/cassette and speakers are original. It has refurbished door panels, new dash pieces, new carpet, new headliner, extra sound insulation and a leather wrapped steering wheel. I"ve also kept the NASCAR embroidered headrest inserts which could be sewn into the new bucket seats. The original NASCAR floor mats are included. The headlights and taillights were replaced with clear lens aftermarket units. It is equipped with a hydraulic piston to ease lowering effort. It has a louvered tailgate installed which is much lighter than the original but the original will be included if the buyer so chooses. In addition, the following parts have been replaced within the last 10K miles:Īt 196K miles I also had some dents and dings fixed and new paint applied.Ī rollpan replaced the rear bumper and the bench seats have been replaced with a pair of Ford Expedition power bucket seats. When the engine block cracked at 196K miles I took the truck back and restored it to pristine condition.Ī new engine was professionally installed at 196K miles and a new transmission at 205K miles. Not too happy about that but family comes first. He was getting into RV"ing but this truck has a limited tow rating of 2000lbs.Īfter years of excellent service I sold it to my son-in-law who was in need of a work truck. I bought the truck from a friend with 11K miles on it. (I fixed the resulting rake by installing 2" lowering shackles on the rear leaf springs but there is still a slight rake and the truck handles extremely well.)įor improved acceleration it has a factory installed 3.73 rear drive axle ratio.
It was lowered 1" in the front at the factory. The only way to know if this is a true collectible NASCAR F-150 is by the window sticker, which I have. There were only 1500 of these trucks produced with an automatic transmission and there is no unique VIN number. The 1998 NASCAR Edition F-150 is basically the regular cab, short box, XLT, 2WD model with some unique cosmetic and mechanical additions.
